NEW!

Chrome Aqua v1.0

Not uploaded a homescreen in a while…. and this is the reason why.
I’m loving this skin to be honest and hope you do to (Especially you Dualband ;) )
Download and extract as normal but rather than coying an image and an XML… copy the folder and the XML.
Note/ There are 2 XMLs… one for WM5 and one for WM2003. Please use specified XMLs or it wont work tidy
Also note there are shortcuts to TCPMP and SmartExplorer… if you havnt got these freewares, I strongly suggest you do NOW! If you do have them and the links aren’t working, then open the XML and change the shortcut from Storage Card to Storage and all should be fine :D
Please use the comments function for problems/bugs/praise etc.

Plugins Needed:
Smart Monitor
RJ Time
Facade

    WOW!!! This is AWESOME!
Slight issue - I don’t show any text for MMS. SMS & emails show “0″ when none & proper numbers when messages received, but MMS “box” remains resolutely blank at all times… It’s a very slight problem, as I never get any MMS messages, just want it to show the “0″ so it looks right! :-) Using the WM5 XML on Orange C600.

Just as an aside, in case anyone’s having problems, there’s a missing “w411y - Chrome Aqua WM5″ line, which would stop the Homescreen showing in the list of homescreens in Settings…

    Thanks,

    AJ.

Thanks James… yeh Im starting to prefer this type of screen actually. Whenever I see a nice image I’ll make a simple homescreen out of it but occasionaly make one of these

    What is the Orange Plugin???

  14. w411y said:

Ill make the clock smaller so I can replace the word ‘Messaging’ with the battery meter. If I get time I’ll do it tonight… if not tommorrow :D
The Orange plugin comes with Orange phones. Its great to use in complex homescreens such as this as it can display all standard plugins in one row… for an example see my Vista screen (4 icons up the top can scroll through left and right)

I’ve also got an issue with the MMS counter. It’s blank!

Also, in the launcher area, all of my icons (except for refresh) are red x’s… though when selected the proper program is launched.

  16. w411y said:

    Hey Kris
Im looking into the MMS counter issues. I guess its the same with all my screens. When Ive resolved the issue I’ll update the popular screens and future homescreens will include an XML for WM5 and one for WM2003. Thanks for pointing out.
About the X’s…. are you copying the folder over and not seperate photos?
When scrolling over TCPMP and Smart Explorer do the images change?

    March 4, 2006 @ 8:28 pm

  17. Kris said:

This is a fantastic home screen. The layout and color scheme rocks. I fixed the problems with the red x’s and other related issues… lets call it a ‘noob’ error ;)

got a request… would it be possible to put the carrier id where the date is, and put the date where it says ‘messaging’ (remove the ‘messaging’ tag completely)? i’ve yet to find a home screen for WM5 that showed the MMS count.

    Thank you!

    March 4, 2006 @ 9:07 pm

  18. w411y said:

Yeh Kris I’ll get that done tomorrow for yah… yours too Dualband.
It will be a while for v2.0 … I want to include all screens skinned and I’m going to have to come up with a solution so that it works on all devices(Orange/Non-Orange/WM5/WM2003)

    March 5, 2006 @ 12:30 pm

  20. w411y said:

Kris…. Sadly mate I cant do what youre asking. RJ Time will not show the carrier. What I can do is write the carrier on the background image and move the date to where ‘messaging’ is. Who is your carrier?

    March 5, 2006 @ 12:53 pm

  21. Kris said:

I’m with Cingular (former AT&T Wireless). My carrier name changes depending on what network I am on. I travel quite often so it changes frequently.

It’s no problem. I can live with out the carrier ID.

I love this screen saver. I edited it a little though to make it work better with the Cingular 2125. I changed the launcher so it shows the right icons for the progs I have setuop, and I swiped a color scheme from another theme, as I didn’t like the aqua, but I love the looks of this theme.

One thing I noticed is that it shows the number of e-mails, and text messages, but not the voice-mails. (well, no zero shows up there, so I am assuming that it won’t work right.)

I would love a battery bar too. I don’t suppose I could get that version too, could I?

One thing I forgot to mention, My phone refuses to see the WM5 version so I editied the paths in the regular version to make it work. Why would the phone act like it’s not there, when I go to select themes?

I have the following problems on my 8310:
    1. MMS counter not showing
    2. Icons in launcher shows only red x’s
    3. The bottom launcher (profile, TCMP, Smartexplorer) only shows a marker for Profile.

    Someone solved this yet?

If you had read through the instructiions and the posts in here you would know the answers:

    1) I’m afraid thats becuase your on WM2005 and I have not found a solution for this yet
2)You havnt read the instructions and copied the images to a new folder
    ( application datahomechrome aqua )
    3) You havnt downloaded and installed the plugin RJShortcuts.

I’ve just downloaded this great looking homescreen and copied it to my cingular 2125, but it doesn’t seem to work. Once I change the home screen setting to this screen, I get an error for my home screen saying it couldn’t load it, and that I should try a different one.

“The layout you have selected cannot be loaded. Please select a different layout using the Home Screen item in Settings.”

    any suggestions?

    W411y,
Figured it out. In your WM5 version, for some reason your background image points to a file Chrome Aqua Kris, instead of Chrome Aqua Background.

    Fixed it, now it’s working.
